.:Caution: Slippery:. Dusty

Dusty was wandering the streets idly. A faint dusting of snow was starting to collect on his black hair, but he took no notice unless it melted. Then it pricked his annoyance, and then he would brush it away. But at the moment, his thoughts were elsewhere. School had started last week, and the same monotoneous tune had started to play. Girls, girls, girl... Did he mention girls? A huff escaped his lips. But, his grades were straight A's at the moment, even if it was a new year, so that was good. Welcome back parties had been planned, even though he didn't plan on going to any. However, there was the dance, but who to ask... His concentration shattered as he watched a girl slip and fall on the ice. She looked vaguely familiar; those blue streaks in her hair.. Dusty made his way over to her.

"You ok?" Skye blinked when she had looked up, a surprised look crossing her features. Dusty smiled faintly at her, wanting to say something else, but at a loss of words.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He watched as the girl rubbed at one of her hands, and the sight of crimson blood caused a flare of worry to swell up. Skye muttered under her breath, but he didn't catch what she had said.

"You're bleeding." His eyes stayed on her bleeding hand, but he soon offered her his hand to help her up. It seemed like the gentlemany thing to do, right? Dusty was clueless, pretty much.

"I'm fine," the girl repeated stubbornly, soon falling into her own silence, eyes preoccupied. She seemed to be thinking intently about something, but Dusty didn't ask. His eyes moved from her hand downwards, blinking as they came to a rest on her wrist, which had been momentarily exposed. He couldn't help but stare, even if that was her problem and way of dealing with life. But, the scars on her wrists probably wasn't the best way to deal with things...

Skye had followed his gaze. "What? You got a problem?" She then proceeded to pull her sleeve up to reveal the rest of her arm. His gaze fell to the snow covered ground, his emotions ranging from pity to fear. If she kept this up..

Glancing back up, she looked expectant. "You wanna come to my place?" Well, that was really smooth, Dusty. Really smooth.

He watched her expression go to shocked again, and then she blinked. "You got coffee?"

Hadn't she just come out of the coffee shop...? "...Sure."

"Then fine."

"And we can talk?"

"Don't count on it, buddy."

"Ah, alright." This girl must keep most, or all, of her emotions and thoughts inside, which probably didn't help. Oh, he couldn't talk though.

"So, we gonna stand here all day or what? It's kinda cold out, Dusty."

He blinked back to reality. "Oh right. This way," he nodded.

As she walked past him, he couldn't help reach out a hand to squeeze her shoulder. She needed comfort... even if it came from, a total stranger. But, that's what probably caused the glare. He fell into silence, wondering if he would ever get the change to learn more about her... He hoped so.
~Love is powerful. Powerful enough to kill.~

Dusty's POV of the Slippery chapter. X3 Well, next chapter will be extremely short, and then the dance. Maybe four or five more "chapters" left, and that's it.

Enjoy!
